The future of technical + editorial content

Technical writing operates on assumptions of primarily B2B communication. While this may be the norm, it is not standard operating procedure. The idea of H2H (human-to-human) communication is often lost in technical environments. Nonetheless, there is emphasis — now more than ever — on humanising technical communication through emotion-centered editorial design. Ultimately, consumers bring just as many emotions and expectations to technical documents as any content process, and producers of such documents therefore have unique opportunities to enculturate audiences into their branded environments.

Workshop Takeaways.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able provide strong content, intent and context to your technical and editorial publications, which drive strong connections to your wider brand ideas that people actually care about. In other words, you will be able to inform and educate your users to: engage with your content; and view your brand as a provider of knowledge and thought ownership. You will also be able to select and apply suitable editorial and design strategies consistently across your organisation and business units. There are no conditions or pre-requisites for attending this workshop.

Workshop Learning Objectives.

On completion of this workshop you will be able to:

• Understand when technical writing works

• Balance intellect with emotion in content pieces

• Match specific audiences with targeted content

• Distribute thought leadership across communities

• Prepare engaging pieces to engage digital communities

• Start your own technical writing and content initiatives

• Write appealing editorials that build better content experiences

Beyond Your Technical Writing + Editorial Workshop.

Support doesn’t stop when the workshop is over. You will continue to be able to write for a wide set of purposes, apply core technical communication tools to specified objectives and audiences, and create unbiased editorial content that enhances your brand communication value through constant contact with your instructors. Quantico’s community support is free and for life. Your post-workshop support keeps you connected to your instructors and keeps the momentum going. Keep in touch and keep coming back for more help and insights into producing quality technical and editorial work.
