Introduction to Branded + Corporate Storytelling focuses on how to tell compelling stories that draw audiences in and convert customers. Telling a story creates relationships and builds trust between your brand and its internal and external audiences. Branded + Corporate Storytelling Workshop Overview.

Branded + corporate storytelling has its roots in content marketing and is conducted on the second day, as part of the Introduction to Content Marketing [+] workshop. Branded + corporate storytelling specifically responds to the spiking demand for robust brand narratives and organisational diegesis shared across social and professional channels.

The influence of brand chronicles and legacies is spreading to all demographics, markets, and hiring trends — all key areas in which organisations are able to establish their presence as a trusted member of digital and analog communities.

Great stories typically begin with great questions; this workshop seeks to train participants to ask the right ones. Stories precede desktop publishing, printing, and writing, and are strongly rooted in oral traditions across cultures and geographies. Yet the fundamental aspect of storytelling, shared and private, has remained consistent: to contextualise events that affect individual and communal lives. What’s the difference between a story and a report? Which brand events are meaningful to your audiences? How does your brand’s narrative fit into the wider context of your audiences? Why do consumers and communities share your brand stories and what do they learn?

Workshop Takeaways.

Telling stories is what we do, as humans. The most effective and memorable pieces of communication are stories. Yet, brands often fail to grasp effective storytelling techniques both for customers and for employees. In this workshop, we will understand why branded storytelling works, and why many organisations fall short of creating genuine connections with their audiences. We will examine how storytelling can work for multiple platforms, both for internal employees and external customers, and how storytelling is effective across products and services.

The myth that storytelling is only for playful, fun, or lifestyle brands will be addressed, and you will learn how brands of all types can use this powerful medium effectively. You will work on stories across text, video, image, and AR/VR formats, and learn how to invest your business resources effectively into branded storytelling. You will be able to identify and construct narratives from the people and products within your workplace and organisation at large. You will also learn the process of performing a story audit and link relevant areas of brand communication (advertising, brand management, content marketing, and social engagement) to your stories and their audiences. There are no conditions or pre-requisites for attending this workshop.
