You’ve written a book. Your manuscript is ready. This may well be the next great novel of our time. Getting published carries a special distinction which establishes you as an authority in your category. While the channels of publishing have greatly increased, the process of publishing retains the challenges and opportunities that turn good authors into great agents for change and influence. This workshop will help you navigate all the ins and outs of modern-day publishing and teach you to grow an organic following around yourself – something incredibly helpful when you’re first starting out. Owing to the nature of content discussed, this workshop accommodates a maximum of two participants per session, to minimise overexposure of private storylines and ideas from individual publishers and authors.
‘Introduction to Publishing’ prepares you to move out of creation and into collaboration. You will learn the five steps towards creating initial niche engagement with your identified audiences, and start building an ecosystem out of disparate elements (agents, contracts, pricing, editing, copyright, marketing, and payments) to drive your publication towards ultimate success.
At the end of this workshop, you will be able to understand and apply the principles and practices of publishing processes and choose which publishing channels are right for you. There are no conditions or pre-requisites for attending this course. You can enrol directly for ‘Introduction to Publishing’ as a single standalone workshop, or you can combine this workshop in a pro bundle together with ‘Introduction to Authorship’ at a reduced bundle price. You can also combine this workshop with any other workshop offered to create your own hybrid combination (e.g. ‘Introduction to Authorship’ with ‘Introduction to Copywriting’).
We understand that organisations and institutions have unique requirements and particular goals to accomplish. Each of our workshops can be re-designed to meet the particular objectives of your organisation. ‘Introduction to Authorship’ follows a standard curriculum for public workshops. Organisations intending to customise this workshop for their own private use, are able to pick from the workshop curriculum and topics, and adapt these to their own requirements. Quantico’s instructors work with organisational training heads and department leads to create a custom version of the workshop for your employee and team needs. Customisation includes replacing public examples with your own internal case studies, and using these within the workshop framework. Customisation also extends to the number of days required (e.g. 1-day or 2-day workshop) and is commensurate with the number of topics covered and breadth of material requested for the customised workshop.
